Job Description
Wash and sanitize pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils/equipment according to hotel standards. Maintain cleanliness of equipment in dishwashing, kitchen, cafeteria, compactor, and storage areas. Assist with setting up wares for banquets, retrieving and washing soiled wares, transporting supplies and food, and supporting kitchen plating for banquets.

1. Maintain knowledge of departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
2. Use equipment correctly and maintain it properly.
3. Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
4. Maintain positive guest relations and respond to inquiries about hotel services and local attractions.
5. Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
6. Keep work areas clean, sanitized, and organized.
7. Use chemicals safely and according to OSHA regulations.
8. Set up workstation with supplies, report shortages, and replenish as needed.
9. Check equipment condition and address deficiencies.
10. Operate dishwashing machinery, ensuring proper temperatures and chemical levels.
11. Sort, store, and air-dry cleaned wares.
12. Operate burnishing and polishing machines for silverware.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience in hotel/restaurant dishwashing or cleaning roles.
3. Knowledge of sanitation regulations and certification.
4. Ability to handle chemicals safely.
5. Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish.
6. Good communication skills.
