Job summary

The Edgewater in Madison, WI is seeking a dedicated Steward to support Culinary and Food & Beverage operations. This role maintains cleanliness and organization in the loading dock, central warehouse, and office areas to ensure smooth service.

Responsibilities include receiving, storing, and distributing inventory; ensuring equipment is clean and operational; and assisting kitchen and banquet teams. Evening/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or culinary experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with vendors and team members.
• Ability to lift, bend, and carry up to 70 pounds regularly.
• Able to work in a standing position for extended periods.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient with computers and email communication with vendors and department leads.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a full-service, professional hotel environment. Stewards regularly use dollies and flat carts to distribute products to all departments. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands/fingers to handle objects.
• Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Frequent lifting of objects up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds.
