Destination by Hyatt Spruce Peak in Stowe, Vermont is hiring a Steward/Dishwasher for the Lodge at Spruce Peak. The role involves washing dishes, cookware, utensils, and keeping the dish area clean and organized in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience in dishwashing or kitchen work is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation standards.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality essential.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
• Comfortable working in hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and events.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish room and kitchen areas.
• Remove trash and recycling regularly and transport to disposal areas.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, keeping work areas clean and safe.
• Clean and sanitize food prep surfaces and kitchen equipment as directed.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when needed.
• Restock kitchen supplies, chemicals, and disposables as required.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Support cooks and culinary staff with basic cleaning and organizational tasks.
• Assist with end-of-shift and deep-cleaning projects.

This position is responsible for washing dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment, as well as assisting with general cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the culinary operation.
