Job summary

Spruce Peak is seeking a courteous Steward to maintain a clean, organized kitchen. This role supports cooks, handles dishwashing, and ensures sanitation throughout the operation at Stowe Resort.

Open to full-time or part-time team members, with opportunities to grow within Hyatt’s family of properties. Pay starts at $19+ per hour with benefits and flexible scheduling options.

Qualifications

• Prior dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and maintain cleanliness.
• Comfort with cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
• Willingness to follow directions and support kitchen staff.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for shifts.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, glassware, and utensils.
• Maintain clean and organized dish room and kitchen areas.
• Remove trash and recycling; restock supplies as needed.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors and sanitize surfaces.
• Assist with receiving, storing deliveries, and end-of-shift duties.

It’s fitting that we are located at the pinnacle of Vermont! The Steward plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. This position is responsible for washing dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment, as well as assisting with general cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the culinary operation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish room and kitchen areas.
• Remove trash and recycling regularly and transport to designated disposal areas.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, ensuring all work areas remain clean and safe.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation surfaces and kitchen equipment as directed.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when needed.
• Restock kitchen supplies, chemicals, and disposables as required.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Support cooks and culinary staff with basic cleaning and organizational tasks.
• Assist with end-of-shift and deep-cleaning projects.

Pay Rate: $19+ an hour
