Job summary

University of Southern California (USC) Hospitality is seeking a Steward (Dishwasher) to maintain daily cleanliness of the dining facility and support front and back of the house operations. The role emphasizes high sanitation standards and customer service to students, faculty, staff and guests on a daily basis.

The position offers hour-to-hour responsibilities including cleaning, inventory, and safe chemical handling, with an hourly rate of $27.00.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service experience
• Experience working in a fast paced environment
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment
• Knowledge of operation of mechanical cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of general maintenance repair work
• Ability to effectively communicate in English
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer services to faculty, staff, students and guests
• Maintain cleanliness of facilities, equipment, tools, utensils, etc., including floor waxing, floor scrubbing and carpet cleaning
• Maintain perpetual inventories of maintenance supplies under supervision
• Perform general maintenance work
• Assist in kitchen sanitation program; comply with standard food handling and sanitation procedures
• Adhere to department service standards and health, safety and University rules
• Attend and participate in meetings as required
• Report to station, ready to work when scheduled
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
