Job summary

AdventHealth Lake Wales seeks a Sterilization Technician to support decontamination, sterilization, and instrument assembly workflows. You will operate sterilizers, verify records, and ensure proper packaging and labeling for aseptic processing. The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to infection prevention standards.

You will participate in rotating tasks across decontamination, tray assembly, and equipment management while maintaining logs and contributing to patient safety.

Qualifications

• CRCST and CSPDT certifications required.
• High school graduate required; vocational training preferred.
• 1+ related experience preferred.
• Field of Study: healthcare sterile processing.
• Technical/Vocational schooling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Selects materials and packaging for aseptic instrument sets.
• Ensures sterilization indicators and lot stickers on all sets.
• Operates sterilization equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Reviews sterilizer charts and records parameters before release.
• Maintains logs and documents requirements in systems.
• Disassembles and inspects items for damage and safety.
• Assembles instruments and records in tracking system.
• Rotates assignments across decontamination and sterilization areas.
