Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly in English and follow written instructions.
• Knowledge of microbiology, aseptic principles, and infection control in sterile processing.
• Familiarity with cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, and instrument tracking.
• Experience with computer systems for logging and records.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification is required or would be mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Selects appropriate materials and sterilization packaging for instrument sets.
• Ensures sterility indicators and lot stickers are present on all item sets.
• Operates sterilization equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Reviews sterilizer charts and documents parameters for release.
• Records all requirements in logs or computer systems.
• Identifies reusable items for decontamination and selects cleaning methods.
• Inspects items for damage and ensures safe operation of equipment.
• Assembles instruments and sets, recording details in tracking systems.
