Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Georgia is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician II to support the operating room team with decontamination, sterilization and instrument handling. You will work under the Central Service Team Leaders, ensuring timely delivery of sterile supplies for surgeries and procedures.

Qualified applicants live within driving distance to campus and have at least one year of instrumentation experience or completion of a Central Service program with certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of instrumentation experience or completed Central Service program with certification.
• One year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Strong basic computer knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable instruments and equipment for surgical and other procedures.
• Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of re-usable surgical equipment, instrumentation and scopes per manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Meeting the needs of the surgical team through support of activities in the sterile core.
