Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of instrumentation experience OR completion of a Central Service vocational program with full certification.
• Vocational Central Service program completion preferred.
• 1 year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to give/receive feedback.
• Good verbal and written communication; concise by phone and in person.
• Central Service Technician certification required within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable instruments and equipment for surgical and other procedures.
• Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of re-usable surgical equipment, instrumentation and scopes per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Support the sterile core to meet the needs of the surgical team.
