Job summary

Mayo Clinic Jacksonville is seeking a dedicated Central Service Technician to support the operating room and surgical services. You will decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute instruments, while ensuring inventory is accurate and available for procedures.

The role requires within-one-year certification, strong communication, and teamwork. On-call duties include weekends and holidays; full-time schedule with daytime/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year instrumentation experience or completion of Central Service vocational program with full certification.
• Certification within one year of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable instruments.
• Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of re-usable surgical equipment, instrumentation and scopes.
• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Support the sterile core to meet surgical team needs.
• Meet 45-minute on-call report time requirement.
