Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida seeks a Central Service Technician to support the operating room and procedural areas. You will decontaminate, assemble, inspect, sterilize, and distribute reusable instruments under supervision, ensuring readiness for surgical teams.

The role requires a High school diploma or GED, 1 year of instrumentation experience or completion of Central Service vocational program with full certification, basic computer skills, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of one year of instrumentation experience OR completion of a Central Service vocational program with full certification.
• Completion of a Central Service vocational program is preferred.
• One year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and provide/receive constructive feedback.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; concise by phone and in person.
• Central Service Technician certification required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable instruments and equipment for surgical and other procedures.
• Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of reusable surgical equipment and scopes per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Meeting the needs of the surgical team through support of activities in the sterile core.
