Working full time, you will follow the OR schedule, operate the instrument tracking system, and ensure correct dispatch of instruments.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• CRCST/CP certification must be obtained within 18 months from date of hire.
• Proven ability to decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package and sterilize surgical instruments.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, packages, and sterilizes surgical instrumentation, linens and identifies those in need of repairs.
• Follows established priority list, O.R. schedule, and telephone requests for required instruments.
• Navigates automated instrument tracking system software.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of the T-doc system.
• Documents all processed material not tracked via electronic system.
• Understands the needs and expectations of patients, faculty, and staff of UPHS and other affiliates.
• HIPAA Compliance.
• JCAHO Compliance.
• Knowledgeable about all disinfectants and chemical germicides.
• References MSDS as needed.
• Handles emergencies for steam sterilization machines.
