Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support operating rooms and patient care teams. You will decontaminate, sterilize and package instruments, and ensure all instruments are ready for procedures across multiple departments.

Preference will be given to certified technicians. The role requires weekend and holiday rotation and SPD certification within 18 months of hire, with an 8-week orientation period.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• SPD certification required within 18 months of hire.
• Preference given to certified technicians.
• On-the-job training with 8 weeks minimum orientation.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves, sorts and decontaminates used materials, instruments and equipment.
• Performs quality checks for cleanliness, sharpness and proper functioning of instruments.
• Performs high level disinfection (HLD) on items that cannot be sterilized.
• Assembles and wraps items in correct packaging material for sterilization.
• Sterilizes wrapped and packaged items by steam or ETO.
• Prepares case carts for the Operating Room.
