Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Department Technician to decontaminate, assemble and sterilize surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes for patient care across Concord Hospital and affiliates.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and certification within 2 years of hire (IAHCSMM or CSPDT). Experience as a Central Sterile Technician is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Certification required within 2 years of hire: IAHCSMM CSPDT or CSPDT alternative.

Responsibilities

• Follows manufacturer’s guidelines for steam and low temperature sterilization and documents using Steris IQ tracking.
• Decontaminates and disinfects instrumentation and flexible endoscopes per standards and guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of instrument kit and case cart inspection and assembly.
• Adheres to hospital Sterile Processing Department policies and AAMI guidelines.
• Maximizes productivity and contributes to department growth and peer support.
• Delivers prompt, quality customer service to patients and expedites turnover of surgical instrumentation.
