Job summary

UCI Health in California seeks a Central Sterile Tech to perform decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies across hospital and clinics. You will also handle charging, billing and logging of service for the OR, participate in daily biological testing, and support department-wide improvement projects while floating between UCI Health locations.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience.
• Required to float between all UCI Health locations as needed.
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment for the department.
• Perform charging, billing and logging of service as well as patient charges for the OR.
• Perform daily biological testing and participate in improvement projects; float between locations as needed.
