Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of instrument sets for the operating room. You will assist Sterile Processing Specialists and may lead in the absence of a Specialist II while maintaining compliance with infection control standards.

Qualifications include a Central Sterile Processing Program, CRCST certification, and the ability to handle up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• Completion of Central Sterile Processing Program and High School diploma or GED.
• CS Technician or instrumentation experience.
• Certification in Central Sterile Technician (CRCST).
• Ability to walk and stand for up to 80% of work time; lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, disassembles, inspects and lubricates instrumentation/equipment.
• Assembles and sterilizes instrument sets and trays per standards.
• Labels and dates prepared packages; ensures packaging integrity.
• Operates and troubleshoots equipment; records sterilization data accurately.
• Maintains instrument supplies and inventories; supports par levels.
