Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support the surgical services team. Under direct supervision, you will care for, decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instrumentation and supplies used across the Medical Center.

You will assist Sterile Processing Specialists, maintain competencies, manage inventory, and ensure equipment readiness for the OR and nursing units. CRCST certification and a CS program background are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of Central Sterile Processing Program.
• High School diploma or GED.
• CS Technician experience.
• CRCST certification.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, disassembles, inspects and lubricates instrumentation and equipment.
• Assembles and sterilizes instrument sets, endoscopes, treating trays and other goods.
• Picks supplies and restocks carts per surgeon's preference card and posted cases.
• Delivers supplies and case carts to the operating room in a timely fashion.
• Maintains inventory and counts sheets; updates par levels as needed.
• May lead in the absence of a Specialist II.
