Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure sterile instrumentation is properly decontaminated, prepared, sterilized, and dispatched to the operating room and other departments. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adherence to AAMI/AORN and CDC guidelines.

Responsibilities include delivering case carts, performing decontamination tasks, and maintaining instrument integrity while upholding high standards of customer service throughout the hospital.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Sterile processing experience preferred.
• Nationally recognized certification for Sterile Processing required within 12 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone promptly and assist caller with obtaining items needed.
• Assembles supplies and places into case carts for procedures.
• Delivers sterile and non-sterile instrumentation and supplies throughout the hospital.
• Delivers scheduled case carts to the Surgery Department.
• Maintains and inventories back-up case carts for the Surgery Department.
