Job summary

Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician Non-Certified to inspect, clean, assemble, test, and process patient care equipment according to hospital policy and manufacturers’ instructions, while upholding AAMI, JCAHO, CDC and state sterility standards. Education includes a High School Diploma or GED; CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification must be completed within 2 years of hire.

Prior surgical setting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certification track: CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD must be completed within 2 years after hire.
• Recent surgical setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination and prepares surgical instrumentation and patient care equipment.
• Uses appropriate detergents and disinfectants per policy; adheres to safety protocols.
• Maintains inventory, delivers supplies, and tracks sterilization activities.
• Documents activities and reports variances affecting sterile products or patient safety.
• Operates sterilizers and ensures aseptic packaging and quality control.
