Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician Non-Certified at Lourdes Hospital. Under general supervision, you will inspect, clean, assemble, test and process patient care equipment and instruments per policy and manufacturers’ instructions.

Key duties include decontamination, sterilization, inventory and documentation while maintaining aseptic technique to support safe surgeries. A High School Diploma or GED is required; CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certifications must be obtained

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification within 2 years after hire (CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD).
• Recent experience in a surgical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination and manual cleaning of surgical instruments and patient care equipment per manufacturers’ instructions.
• Assembles, tests and processes equipment for sterile use and maintains aseptic technique.
• Inventory and restocks supplies; ensures proper labeling and stock rotation.
• Performs quality control checks and documents activities in IT systems; reports variances.
• Operates and maintains sterilizers and related equipment to produce sterile packages.
