Job summary

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in Miami is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized and ready for daily surgeries. You will follow safety standards, monitor cycles, and prepare instrument trays in coordination with nurses and surgeons.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a sterile processing program, and CBLS certification or plan to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate / GED
• Graduate from a Sterile Processing Technician school
• Current Sterile Processing Technician Certification or agreement to obtain within 6 months of employment
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries
