Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for every procedure. You will support a team dedicated to safe, high-quality care and collaborate with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs during surgeries.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterilization cycles, preparing instrument trays, and safely handling biohazardous materials while upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Previous experience strongly preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.
