Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support infection control by cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing and distributing medical instruments for the OR, L&D and bedside care. You will work in a team, ensure proper documentation and equipment readiness for procedures.

Requirements include high school diploma or GED, CRCST/CBSPD certification within 6 months, and prior sterile processing experience preferred. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance and a 403(b) plan.

Qualifications

• Prior sterile processing experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST/CBSPD Certification within 6 months of employment; CER preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares, inspects and assembles surgical instruments and endoscopes for sterilization.
• Collects, cleans, disinfects patient care equipment and surgical instruments from OR, L&D and other areas.
• Transports soiled and sterile instruments between facilities and supports decontamination processes.
• Assists in orientation and training of new hires.
• Monitors and documents results of decontamination/sterilization equipment.
