Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician at Mount Holly to support infection control by cleaning, sterilizing and distributing medical instruments and equipment. This role covers OR, Labor & Delivery, and endoscopy areas with focus on proper preparation and documentation for bedside use.

The position requires a high school diploma, sterile processing coursework or CRCST prep, and CRCST/CBSPD certification within 6 months; prior sterile processing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; sterile processing coursework or CRCST certification preparation.
• CRCST/CBSPD Certification required within 6 months of employment; CER preferred.
• Previous sterile processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, inspects and assembles surgical instruments and endoscopes for sterilization.
• Cleans, disinfects patient care equipment and instruments from OR, L&D and other areas.
• Assists in orientation and training of new hires.
• Operates, monitors and documents decontamination and sterilization equipment results.
• Delivers patient care equipment and replenishes supplies; inventories carts.
• Transports soiled and sterile instrumentation between facilities.
