Job summary

Virtua Health is hiring for a Sterile Processing Technician to support infection control by sterilizing and distributing medical instruments for procedures in OR, L&D, and endoscopy areas. The role requires CRCST certification within 6 months and prior sterile processing experience, with a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Previous sterile processing experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• CRCST certification coursework/program is required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, inspects and assembles surgical instruments, powered surgical equipment, and endoscopes for sterilization.
• Cleans, disinfects patient care equipment and surgical instruments from clinical units and OR areas.
• Assists in orientation and training of new hires.
• Operates, monitors and documents results of decontamination and sterilization equipment.
• Delivers patient care equipment and replenishes supplies for department and OR Case Cart System.
• Transports soiled and sterile surgical instrumentation between facilities.
