Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician at Thomasville Medical Center in Thomasville, North Carolina. The role requires CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT certification and a high school diploma, with about one year of hospital sterile processing experience preferred.

The team handles cleaning, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of instruments for five operating rooms. Shifts are Day Shift, 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with on-call every third

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1 year in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification; CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT required.
• Ability to complete skills validation and competency testing; knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute equipment.
• Ensure instruments/equipment are available and ready for use.
• Maintain and ensure proper operation of equipment to support patient care.
• Deliver exceptional patient experience and support safety standards.
• Work with a team focused on quality patient care and collaboration.

On-Call: Every 3rd weekend

Department Information: Our Sterile Processing Department is a critical unit responsible for the lifecycle management of medical instruments and equipment for 5 operating rooms.

What You'll Do

• Cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing equipment
• Ensures the instruments and equipment are available
• Ensures all equipment is properly maintained, and ready for immediate use in order to support patient care.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience: One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification.
