Job summary

Novant Health's Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician for a full-time role in Charlotte, NC. You will clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, store and distribute equipment to support patient care.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least one year in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, and a Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification (CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department preferred.
• Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification required (CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT).
• Ability to complete skills validation and competency testing; knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique; read instructions; understand medical terminology; maintain certification.

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute equipment.
• Ensure sterile instruments and equipment are available.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and ready for patient care.

What You'll Do

• Cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing equipment
• Ensures the sterile instruments and equipment are available
• Ensures all equipment is properly maintained, and ready for immediate use in order to support patient care

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience: One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification.
