Job summary

Novant Health's Kernersville Medical Center is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our Sterile Processing team. You will ensure surgical instruments and medical equipment are cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and ready for use by our clinical teams during day shifts.

Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, 1 year hospital Sterile Reprocessing experience, and Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification (CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department is preferred.
• Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification (CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT) is required.
• Ability to complete skills validation and competency testing; knowledge of instrumentation and sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Prepare and package instrument sets according to established procedures.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness.
• Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection prevention and safety standards.
• Ensure instruments and equipment are available and ready to support patient care.
