Job summary

Novant Health's Mount Pleasant facility is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician with a high school diploma to support instrument preparation and handling in a fast-paced hospital environment.

You will inspect and test reusable tools, assemble instrument sets and trays, and follow exact written guidelines to ensure sterile/aseptic standards.

Preferred candidates have one year in a hospital Sterile Processing Department and may hold Sterile Processing Tech Certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Processing Department preferred.
• Sterile Processing Tech Certification preferred.

• Inspection & Testing: Checks all reusable tools and devices for damage, cleanliness, and proper mechanical function.
• Assembly & Packaging: Accurately builds and wraps instrument sets, trays, and medical supplies according to exact written instructions and manufacturer guidelines

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience: One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Processing Department, preferred.
• Licensure/certification/registration: Sterile Processing Tech Certification, preferred.
• Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology.
