Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Sterile Processor to ensure proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, equipment and sterilization processes. The role requires knowledge of aseptic techniques and the ability to communicate with OR staff under pressure.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, and certification in Sterile Processing is preferred along with at least one year of experience in Sterile Processing.

Qualifications

  • Certification in Sterile Processing is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of Sterile Processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterilization processes.

  • Work under pressure with tact and endurance while communicating with OR staff.
  • Monitor daily schedule for changes in instrumentation.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Sterile Processing supervisor and the Director of O.R., the Sterile Processor ensures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterilization processes. The Sterile Processor must demonstrate good knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic techniques, must have knowledge of equipment, instruments, procedures and supplies used in the operating room. The Sterile Processor must be able to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact and endurance. This position must provide on-going and continual communication with Operating Room staff, including communicating special equipment needs as they arise. The Sterile Processor must also monitor the daily schedule for changes in instrumentation.

Training, Education & Experience
  • High School graduate or GED required

  • Certification in Sterile Processing is preferred
  • A minimum of one (1) year of Sterile Processing experience preferred
