Job summary

Ascension in Baltimore, MD seeks an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for the evening, full-time role. You will inspect, assemble, and evaluate surgical instrument sets, perform decontamination of instruments and containers, and ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment.

Inventory levels must be maintained to support case carts. Credentials in sterile processing are preferred, with CBSPD/IAHCSMM noted.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Inspect, assemble and evaluate all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine need for repair/replacement.
• Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
• Inspect instruments, equipment and containers to assure cleanliness and proper functioning.
• Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) Preferred.
• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board.

Education

for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Preferred.

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
