Job summary

Ascension, located in Tulsa, OK, seeks a Sterile Processing leader to oversee decontamination, assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments per AAMI standards. You will prepare case carts, monitor QA, productivity, and drive process improvements while hiring and mentoring staff.

Join Ascension St. John Medical Center’s Sterile Processing team to ensure safe, efficient operations on a full-time day shift.

Qualifications

• Credentialed in CBSPD or IAHCSMM within 12 months of hire/transfer date.
• High School diploma or equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR an Associate/Technical degree with 1 year experience OR 5 years of applicable experience.

• Schedule: Full-time day shift, Monday through Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Oversee decontamination, assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments using Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards.
• Oversee and complete preparation of all case carts as required by following local inventory standards.
• Evaluate and document quality assurance program findings and coaches team toward improving regular audit outcomes.
• Focus on productivity standards and quality workflow metrics.
• Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• One or more of the following required:
• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Associates hired or transferred into the role prior to 12/26/21 can be credentialed as a CentralService Tech or Surgical Tech. Associates hired or transferred into the role after 12/26/21 must be credentialed as a Central Service Tech through Certification Board for Sterile Processing andDistribution (CBSPD) or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM).

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
