PRN Sterile Processing Tech – Houston Physicians Hospital

The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for delivering safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative and individualized nursing care to patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Computer skills, required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred.
• Six months of experience, preferred.
• 1-2 years experience as Instrument Room Technician preferred.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized the setting up of the operating room instrument tray.
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
• Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
