Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Frisco is seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team.

The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases. 6 months to hire. Ensures compliance with sterilization protocols.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification CRCST through IAHCSMM or CRSPT through CBSPD within 6 months of hire.
• 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understands steam/gravity sterilizers.
• Understands Low Temperature Sterrad sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions.
• Must be an excellent team player and communicate with staff, patients and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and care for all surgical instrumentation.
• Set up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.
• Prepare reports and keep records of sterilization cycles.
• Ensure understanding of operating room instrumentation and sterilizer operation.
