Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician maintains all surgical instrumentation & scopes, sets up supplies for surgical cases.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Computer skills required
• CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred
• Experience in SPD and scope processing highly preferred
• Knows operating room instrumentation
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
• One to two years experience as a Scrub Tech or Surgical Processing in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with physicians and all medical professionals
• Demonstrated knowledge of sterile processing
• Previous healthcare experience in any capacity
• Current certification of BLS
