Responsibilities include decontamination, sterilization, documentation, and ensuring compliance with AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA guidelines, while maintaining safety and efficiency across the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• No professional license required.
• Strong critical-thinking and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to patient safety and sterile processing standards.

Responsibilities

• Collects, decontaminates, stores, and distributes reusable supplies and equipment throughout the hospital.
• Inspects, decontaminates, assembles, and sterilizes instruments per guidelines.
• Operates departmental equipment safely and according to manufacturer instructions.
• Provides responsive service to hospital departments with focus on patient needs.
• Documents sterile supplies using indicators to verify sterility.
• Follows manufacturer instructions and hospital policies in processing.
• Maintains organized and efficient work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
