Job summary

Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician to support the operating room by cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing surgical instruments. The role requires attention to detail and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Shifts run 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, full-time, 40 hours per week. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, SPD or Central Service certification, and experience with instrument handling and data entry; lifting up

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Central Service or Instrument Tech certification/program.
• Surgical Tech program graduate.
• 5+ years of hands-on instrument tech experience in the Operating Room.
• Sterilizer knowledge and equipment fluency.
• Comfort with computers and data entry.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Friendly, team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments (SPD Technician).
• Prep and pack surgical case carts as needed for the OR.
• Receive, store, and distribute SPD supplies and equipment.
• Maintain data entry and inventory control.
• Be a team player who can operate across SPD as needed.
