Job summary

Truman Medical Centers is seeking a Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician for the Surgery Center in Kansas City, MO. This PRN/part-time role (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) supports the SPD in cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing instruments and preparing case carts for the OR.

You’ll handle receiving, storing, and distributing supplies, perform data entry, and assist with inventory control. A detail‑oriented, team‑minded individual will thrive in this role at UH1.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification in Central Service or Instrument Tech, or Surgical Tech program graduate, OR 5+ years hands-on instrument tech experience in the OR.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments.
• Prep and pack surgical case carts for the OR.
• Receive, store, and distribute supplies and equipment.
• Enter data and manage inventory control.
• Be a flexible team player across SPD.
