Job summary

Truman Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for the University Health Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. This full-time role supports the Sterile Processing Department with instrument decontamination, sterilization, and cart preparation for the OR.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, Central Service or Instrument Tech certification, or Surgical Tech training, plus 5+ years of OR instrument tech experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification/program in Central Service or Instrument Tech is required.
• Surgical Tech program completion preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments as SPD lead.
• Prep and pack surgical case carts for the OR as needed.
• Receive, store, and distribute supplies and equipment.
• Enter data and manage inventory within SPD systems.
• Collaborate across SPD areas to ensure workflow efficiency.
