Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Knowledge of sterilization principles and applications.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Receive soiled and contaminated items in decontamination area.
• Sterilize instruments and equipment using aerator, gas or steam sterilizers.
• Package items and perform quality checks to ensure sterility.
• Care for high-cost instrumentation and equipment with proper handling.
• Build case carts, file case cart sheets and manage requisitions.
• Check incoming trays and follow up on missing instruments.
• Record orders for supplies and maintain stock levels.
• May perform patient positioning and transferring duties as needed.
