Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Two years of sterile processing experience preferred and on-the-job training offered.

Responsibilities

• Analyze OR schedule to identify instrument needs.
• Remove soiled equipment from Patient Care Units, Surgery, LD, and ED.
• Operate sterile processing equipment (washers, decontaminators, steam sterilizers, ultrasonics, incubators, Sterrad and Steris sterilizers, heat sealers) per manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain PPE in decontamination area and uphold hospital policy for decontamination.
• Maintain sterile core hygiene and restock per policy; attend in-services and stay updated on equipment/products.
• Create accurate case carts using resource maps and pick tickets.
• Replace inventory and store returned supplies to maintain sterility.
• Maintain inventory and process instruments using instrument tracking software.
• Inspect instruments to ensure proper functioning and establish sterilization.
