You will operate washers, decontaminators, sterilizers, and related equipment while maintaining sterile technique and coordinating with the Operating Room Manager. The role requires prior hospital experience, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to manage inventory and case carts.

Qualifications

• Prior hospital experience.
• Two years of Sterile Processing Experience (continue training on the job to prepare for courses or certification).
• High School Graduate or Equivalent; Sterile Processing Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze OR schedule to identify instrument needs.
• Remove soiled equipment from Patient Care Units, Surgery, LD, and ED as needed.
• Operate all sterile processing equipment (washers, decontaminators, steam sterilizers, ultrasonics, Sterrad/Steris sterilizers, heat sealers) per manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain sterile core hygiene and stock per policy; attend in-services and stay current on new equipment and products.
• Create accurate case carts using resource maps and pick tickets; replace inventory as needed.
• Maintain inventory and process instruments using instrument tracking software; inspect instruments for proper function.
• Ensure sterility is established and maintained; maintain sterilization logs and records.
• Schedule sharpening of instruments and coordinate receiving products and placing orders; communicate with OR Manager.

Education
