Job summary

MedStar Health in Maryland seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to perform sterile processing, cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of medical devices for the operating room and patient care units. You will ensure equipment is inspected, assembled, and packaged per manufacturer instructions and department policies.

Responsibilities include coordinating with departments, restocking carts, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Sterile Processing/Surgical Technologist program preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in sterile processing preferred.
• Certification as Central Service Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sterile processing functions, cleans and decontaminates reusable medical devices following instructions and policies.
• Inspects, assembles, packages and sterilizes devices according to procedures.
• Transports equipment to SPD decontamination area and cleans equipment as required.
• Documents cleaning activities and maintains daily records per regulatory standards.
