Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing professional to analyze the OR instrument needs and ensure sterile readiness across units. You will handle decontamination, operate washers and sterilizers, and maintain strict PPE and hygiene standards.

The role requires prior hospital experience and at least two years in sterile processing, with on‑the‑job training available to support certification preparation and ongoing skill development.

Qualifications

• Two years of Sterile Processing Experience (continue training on the job to prepare for courses or certification).
• Prior hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze OR schedule to identify instrument needs.
• Remove soiled equipment from Patient Care Units, Surgery, LD, and ED if necessary.
• Assist with operation of all sterile processing equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
• Decontaminate instruments per hospital policy; wear PPE in decontamination area.
• Maintain sterile core hygiene; restock per policy; attend in-services to learn new equipment.
• Create accurate case carts using resource maps and pick tickets.
• Replace inventory and store returned supplies to maintain sterility.
• Maintain inventory and process instruments using instrument tracking software.
• Inspect and maintain instruments to ensure proper function.
• Ensure sterility is established and maintained; keep sterilization logs filed.
• Participate in inventory management; organize daily work assignments.
• Schedule sharpening of instruments; receive products and place orders for new ones.
• Maintain communication with the Operating Room Manager.
