Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure equipment meets high quality and safety standards. You will receive and process supplies, perform cleaning and sterilizing duties, and prepare packs of instruments in Central Sterile Supply as directed.

Role requires adherence to AORN/AAMI/JCAHO guidelines, a minimum of 1 year in central supply or sterile processing, and strong communication in English with OR and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English with nursing, technical and medical staff.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to protocol.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Experience in sterile processing or central supply is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, clean, disinfect, and decontaminate instruments and equipment per hospital policies.
• Operate washer-decontaminator, cart washer, and ultrasonic cleaner.
• Pack, wrap, or containerize instruments and supplies for storage and transport.
• Monitor and document sterilization processes and ensure traceability.
