Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a Sterilizing Tech II to support the Operating Rooms by disassembling, cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and distributing sterile trays and instruments. You will maintain accurate records, follow infection control practices, and ensure supplies reach the ORs promptly.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least 1 year of Sterile Processing experience, basic computer skills, and certification. Prefer 3+ years.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in sterile processing or related field.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and inventory.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Sterile Processing certification through an accredited body.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, cleans, assembles, sterilizes, and stores trays, instruments, and supplies.
• Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers.
• Maintains and updates department reports and inventory.
• Assembles instrument trays with high accuracy using the tracking system.
• Performs quality control and ensures infection control practices are followed.
• Disposes with proper handling and prioritizes workload.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
