Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Sterilizing Tech II to join our Central Sterile Processing team. The role involves disassembly, cleaning, sterilization, and storage of trays and instruments per established procedures.

You will support operating rooms with timely dispensing of sterile supplies and maintain accurate inventory and documentation. Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and a Sterling Processing

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in sterile processing or related role.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic computer skills demonstrated.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Sterile Processing certification from an accredited body is required.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, cleans, assembles, sterilizes, and stores trays, instruments, equipment and supplies per procedures.
• Disassembles and cleans instruments and equipment using proper technique.
• Assembles instrument trays with accuracy using the instrument tracking system.
• Maintains department reports and sterilization documentation.
• Dispenses sterile supplies and trays to hospital departments as needed.
• Prioritizes workload and meets deadlines for sterilization tasks.
• Communicates with inventory for supplies and maintains inventory accuracy.
• Performs quality control functions and ensures compliance with infection control standards.
• Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers as needed.
• Demonstrates teamwork and supports co-workers across departments.
