Job summary

Kaiser Permanente’s South Bay Med Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, clean, assemble and sterilize medical instruments for diverse surgical procedures. The role includes handling PM validation, inventory, and equipment rounds in an acute hospital setting.

You will disassemble/assemble sets, operate steam/plasma sterilizers and endoscope reprocessors, maintain accurate records, and support on-call coverage with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute hospital.
• Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program including 400 clinical hours.
• Certification in sterile processing or surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, cleans and sterilizes instruments per manufacturers recommendations.
• Assembles, inspects and dates OR sets and specialty carts.
• Operate steam/plasma sterilizers and automated endoscope reprocessors.
• Maintain sterility and document sterilizer records and tests.
• Support on-call coverage and travel as required.
