Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a sterile processing technician to ensure surgical instruments are safe for use and properly re-processed. You will decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and store instruments, supporting the operating room team in perioperative care.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with at least one year of sterile processing experience or completion of an accredited program. Certification within one year of hire is required and ongoing compliance is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of sterile processing experience OR completion of accredited program.
• Certification through IAHSCMM or CBSPD required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and storage of instruments.
• Maintain inventory and support operating room teams.
• Follow standards by Joint Commission, AAMI, IAHSCMM, AORN, OSHA, DOT, WHO, FDA, EPA, and HIPPA.
• Ensure instruments are safe for use and processed per guidelines.
