Job summary

Norwalk Hospital Association in Norwalk, CT seeks an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to support the decontamination, sterilization and case-cart workflow for the surgical services. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to AAMI standards, and ability to work independently with weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum formal education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years sterile processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes workflow of the Sterile Processing Department and OR needs.
• Communicates needs and priorities to Supervisor or Lead Tech.
• Verifies that all equipment and instruments required for the next day\'s procedures are accounted for.
• Prepares case carts for next day\'s procedures and resolves shortages.
• Ensures sterile processing functions comply with AAMI standards and regulations.
• Maintains designated levels of sterile and nonsterile supplies.
• Instructs and mentors new employees during peak or emergency situations.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
